SLIDER

life lately

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week were same-ol'-same-ol'. Everynight, i fall on the couch, exhausted, and absolutely delighted that I can sew, look at pinterest, do anything and not feel guilty about homework being due! Some good news we recieved this week: Bronson received 2 scholarships from BYU! So proud of him. Especially for resisting the temptation to hang out with me during the week nights instead of doing homework. He is one fantastic guy!

Tuesday night, Clayton & Cecily came over to watch Game 2 of the NBA playoff's with the Blazers vs. the Golden State Warriors. Sadly, we lost. But last night, the Blazers beat them! Woot.

Thursday night, Bronson and I did initatories at the temple. One of my favorite parts is that we get to walk to the temple. We both finished in one hour, but failed to communicate about where we would meet afterwards. Which led us to both of us sitting in two different areas for 45 minutes "waiting" for the other person. GRRRR. I mean, of all the places to get lost, or "waiting" for someone, its the temple. Luckily, now, we will never make that mistake again.

So, completely starved, we  starting making this avacado pesto pizza at 8pm at night. (bad idea)

Somehow cooking for 1.5 hours to then only eat in 15 mins makes no sense to me! There are a lot of reasons why I only make Pinterest dinners once a week. First, it means we eat at 9pm, because they require way more prep than you think, and frankly kill all motivation to make a proper meal again! Somehow the ingredients list just magically adds more and more ingredients you never saw, heard of or even bought at the store. And gaurenteed it just won't ever look the same way. But, I, honestly don't care too much about that as long as it tastes good.
And good news.. It tasted really good!

Friday night -- doing my wifely duties of going out more. We decided to try Smashburger -- this is just rumor, but we've heard its really popular along the east coast. The burger was really good, but thats about it. I think I've taken it upon myself to search out and find the absolute best shakes and fries in the Utah Valley. And i take this responsibility very seriously. So far, Potbelly's shakes are my favorite -- just because it was simply yummy. Not too fancy, and not too simple.

We went bowling in the BYU Wilkinson center -- just because they have some date night specials. We prefer to do things like this in spring and summer because it is significantly less crowded.
Bronson and I went there for our first date together. I was even wearing the same shirt on accident. This time around though, Bronson was actually coherent, and wasn't extremely loopy from his Nyquil dosage. (he had a bad sinus infection -- and coughed so much I talked to the other couple more than him haha). Let it be know, I beat him....only once though.

Of course we came home and watched some White Collar, which we are starting to wean ourselves from slowly and surely.

Saturday: We went running in the morning, and did lots of cleaning. Later, we went to Blaine & Amelie's for the most delicious waffles before we went to the Tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point with Clayton and Cecily. While standing in line -- the workers told us that the tulips had been quite shredded from the downpour of hail the day before. All the tulips that we saw as we walked to the main entrance to buy tickets were looking awful. like awful awful, with just the stem standing and all the tulip pedals on the ground. So.... we turned around and said that was fun, and went to the ice-cream parlor and got some cheap ice-cream and talked.

(but I obviously got a picture to instagram, so it made people THINK we went... haha)

Bronson and I went to the outlet mall afterwards and got some REALLY cute stuff on sale. I'm THRILLED. I need to confess, Bronson's been extremely generous to let me use the majority of our shopping budget for clothes, shoes, and necessities I've needed, that he really hasn't gotten any new clothes in years. It was good to see him smiling in the dressing room, because he was excited he was actually getting a new shirt! Luckily, with some extra graduation money, I was able to get some things, and Bronson was able to use our shopping budget money. Bronson spent a good hour today working on finances to make sure we stay within our budget. I appreciate that -- because that is NOT my strong point. (Like, I often have to reset my passwords to my bank accounts because i never get on them enough to remember! eeek! haha i'm slightly exaggerating...)

Let me just show you something fun we got.... Hers on the left, His on the right.
now, before you get any ideas that we are high rollers, the shoes on the left, were originally $150. And we got BOTH pairs for LESS than half of that. So... its just all about the bargain shopping. :)

Okay, thats probably all you care to know about our weekend. :)

  3. We've made that mistake too! It led to some frustrating moments because we had to be somewhere afterwards...but oh well! Good thing the temple is a good place to be to do that. :)
