Lewis reunion at bear lake - Part I

Family time is unreal. Its unlike any other time you have.
Time with family just feels so much more important to me now than ever before.

I have a rather large, crazy, unashamed family. In total, we had 19 adults, and 19 kids. So needless to say, this reunion was rocking. It was the first time in about 4 or 5 years that all nine siblings were together. Meredith's family in Hawaii were unable to make it, Bryan had his intern graduation -- and we sure missed their kids. They are so cute.

The reunion began on Tuesday evening -- filled with games, hiking, beach day, soccer, football, story time with Grandma, a nightly devotional and glorious meals. Bronson and I weren't able to come until Thursday night, because I couldn't get off work, and he took his last final that morning. We hit lots of traffic, accidents, and construction and took us 2 hours longer than usual.

We finally arrived in Bear Lake, and the view from any angle is breath taking. We reached the downtown intersection right as my family did, as they were walking to get some famous raspberry milkshakes -- so that was a fun encounter. There were so many of us, we took up an entire block to order.

My favorite part was watching Norah and Ruby ... getting brain freezes...

(we have our very own, Donald Trump impersonator)

That night, we played minute-to-win-it games for the adults. Meredith did a great job coordinating it so we could play with our spouses. Bronson and I took 4th and won the coveted chocolate covered macadamian nuts all the way from Hawaii.

*we had to shake our booties to get all the ping pong balls out of a kleenex box strapped around our waist. *get a slinkie to sit on top of our head *stack pennies with one hand *bounce ping pong balls in cup and stacking them as we go using one hand * and feeding our spouse without looking

Needless to say, the kids sleeping up above didn't really get any sleep until we were done. The thing to realize about Lewis Family Reunions -- you don't get any sleep. We never went to bed before ONE A.M. because we talked, and talked, and talked some more.
