BYU sports is my frienemy

I am definitely a converting BYU fan. About time considering I've graduated, and lived with three BYU sports fanatic (one being Bronson, two being Julia, and three being my dad). And we always get free BYU garb. Free things really get to my heart.

Rewind back to two years ago I finished my mission and was preparing to go back to BYU. I debated getting a student sports pass considering I hardly attended the games my freshman and sophomore years. I walked into the kitchen and asked my dad if I should get a pass. He said, "Well, do you have the money to pay for it."
Me: "No."
Dad: "Well then I guess you're not getting one."
Me: "Okay," exit out of the kitchen.

Two weeks later I made a phone call to my mom.
Me; "Hey mom there is this cute boy in my ward and he goes to all the sports game. I think I need to get one."
Mom: "Well can you afford it."
Me: "No, thats why I called you."
Mom; "Okay, you can use my credit card."
Moms for the win!

Thanks to that $125 investment, Bronson and I are married and attending every BYU sports game since. Sometimes to my joy, and sometimes to my dismay. Most of the time I love BYU sports, but lately they have not been loving me back with their lousy losing streak.

hellloo Lavell Edwards Stadium... and hello cotton candy sky!

When Bronson and I attended the pre-game show watched the game from the 27 foot screen, I started to get chills when they completed fabulous plays. Thats love.

When we attend the home-games we stand the full four hours -- even on the second to last row of the top of Lavell Edwards stadium. Some serious tissues were need for those nosebleed seats.
I told Bronson there was one stipulation that needed to be in place this season. Yoga pants. Huh?
Bronson cringes when he sees girls wear yoga pants, mostly because its casual. But he obviously hasn't worn yoga pants before. Yoga pants make you feel like you're wearing pure gold. Moral of the story: he's never let me go in public in yoga pants, and I probably should thank him for it. But I'm setting the terms and making one exception : BYU games. If I'm going to stand and be out in the cold for 4 solid hours, darn straight i'm going to feel like i'm wearing gold. That is my labor of love.

Special thanks to Clayton for providing adequate supervision and a handy third wheel. And thanks for talking to Bronson 3/4ths of the game so I could look at Instagram and not feel guilty.

  3. You had me laughing through this whole thing. Yoga pants are my jam. Esp right now. If I only wear them half the day I am feeling pretty good about myself. I love that you made that a rule! Also, I am impressed you guys go to more than just football games. You support all by sports!
