Merry December

I think from now on I'm always going to have to have a live wreath on the door.

All I could think about this week was how I just wanted a day off from work to get all the things on my to-do list done (what a dream!) My body had different plans, and Tuesday night I got the stomach flu. At least the only redeeming quality about being sick was laying on the couch and having the Christmas tree to look at (it really is the little things!)

Wednesday, luckily, Bronson didn't have his 9am class, which allowed him to go to the store and get me 7up and saltines before his other classes. Oh the sweet nostalgia of sprite and saltines. I watched two hallmarks, drew myself a bath and napped. So minus the nausea it was a perfect day at home.

Friday night, we went to my corporate and administrators Christmas party at the Riverside country club. That place was fancy and so cozy for Christmas. While the majority of people there were twice our age -- I couldn't help but have so much gratitude for the company I've worked for for almost three years. It's not too often you get to have a blessing on your food since everyone was LDS. This job has not been just a paycheck (okay, there were a few weeks it was), but I've met some incredible, inspiring, amazing individuals and I'm so glad I've had the opportunity to work with them. We played a trivia game, watched a slideshow of year in review and heard from the CEO, COO and VP. As we left, they gave everyone a Stonehenge embroidered backpack filled with goodies and a ham!

I was too embarrassed to ask someone to take our picture in front of the giant Christmas tree in the lobby,
so this had to do haha

After the party, we went to get fro-yo with Jessica and Daymon as Jessica was officially graduated from college and landed a job teaching 2nd grade next semester in AF. Saturday, Bronson and I went to the temple, and I really felt this fullness of joy in the celestial room. That was a moment of life I wanted to remember.

I've held onto a free Waffle Luv coupon for 3 years, so we finally went. So yummy!

That afternoon we mailed Christmas cards, cleaned the apartment, listened to Christmas music and watched snow flurries. Bronson and Daymon went to the BYU vs Utah game and I enjoyed watching Christmas movies at home. :)

For our Sabbath day we had our neighbors down below over for dinner. They were such friendly people, it was fun to get to know them more. And besides, we had 9lbs of ham, that we needed help eating.

Bronson and I have not been very consistent with following the exact suggestions for light the world this month, but we have found our own ways to serve in our ward family that has been alot of fun. I read this quote in gospel principles today, "Christlike service grows out of genuine love for the Savior and of love and concern for those whom He gives us opportunities and direction to help. Love is more than a feeling; when we love others, we want to help them. All of us must be willing to serve, no matter what our income, age or social position. "

Getting anxious to spend the holidays with family at the end of this week!
